Hi guys... thanks for the replies and I really appreciate it

I was working with my homework for 2 days so I couldn't reply you guys

but... I'm still confused with my guitar

I changed them into 10-46 strings

and then I realize that when I put my finger on the frets that are closer to the nut, it buzzes and sounds very very weird, also sounds weird in my amp

I went to a guitar store and they said I have to spend $65 to set up the neck

is it true? or is it just a shock after change new strings

I'm so confused

please let me know guys

thank you

cheers

As the people at the guitar store told you, your guitar most likely needs a setup. The truss rod may need adjusting, the bridge may need raising, nut slots may need to be raised, or any combination thereof. All of these procedures are best carried out by a professional, such as the guitar technician at the guitar store you mentioned.

Short answer: Pay the $65 and get it set up.

so... last time I changed the strings and found out that the nut aren't attached and glued

then I bought weldbond, a wood glue and glued it by myself

but I noticed that the nut aren't attached on it and there's a gap

This wouldn't cause fret buzz. Sometimes manufacturers don't use enough glue on the nut, or forget to glue it, so the string tension holds the nut down. Regardless of the gap, it wouldn't cause fret buzz.

And I know most guitar stores in my area charge about $50 for a setup. $50-$70 is the acceptable range in my opinion, with $70 being the upper end.
