nickwass
Hi I am currently writing a book about the history of the Höfner 500/1 Violin Bass. We need a little help from you guys here at Gibson! The EB1 bass pre-dated the Hofner Violin Bass and there is some suggestion that Höfner may have been influenced by it. But that is a topic for another discussion. What we are needing is a good image of an early EB1 bass from the 1950s. If you can help we would be very grateful. We would credit the owner of the bass in the book of course. I hope that someone can help us because we have not found a good quality hi-res image anywhere so far. Thanks Nick Marketing Manager, Hofner. Grog
Hi Nick, If you don't get a bite on a '50s EB1, I have a 1969 reissue. George

cunningham26
Hi Nick, Was at an auction yesterday where a '58 went for $2600. Here's a link to the page with a massive photo of it. Hope that helps! http://www.skinnerinc.com/asp/fullCatalogue.asp?salelot=2595B++++++9+&refno=++942530
