J.R.M.30!
What is the average lifespan of a tube in an amp? I've heard a year at the most. I would think it all depends on how long you play on it too.
damian
There's way too many variables involved........So, one month to 40 years.......( Realistically ).....
Jeff-7
What Damian said. Things like how hot it is biased, use, construction, temperatures, handling etc. can all attribute to the death of tubes.
Guest farnsbarns
Valves last longer I believe. My Marshall's valves have been going for nearly 10 years now. In all seriousness, if used within spec they last for ever pretty much, in guitar guitar amps they're often used outside of spec but for the average joe playing an hour a day at home and occasional louder use they should last a lot more than a year on average.
