Mustache Guitar Repairs
Awesome guitar!! I checked out your blog and the other banner you have as well as the link to the Kalamazoo Gals book, great stuff, I think I'm going to have to get my hands on a copy of that book. tvguit
I should add to that blog post that the neck on this guitar is a monster. It didn't take but a minute to get used to but it is very noticeable. The nut width is 1 7/8 but it is deep too.
zombywoof
I would be interested in hearing your impressions. I have never been able to make peace with a mahogany top guitar. Since I have a great affection for old Kay Krafts and other el cheapo mail order catalog sweeties - a Louisville Slugger neck and wide nut is like coming home to me. jt
John, A gorgeous guitar! Thanks for sharing it with us. I'm likely one of the few who prefer the mahogany topped Banners over their spruce topped cousins. To my ears, these are astounding guitars. tvguit
I struggle at describing tone with words but I'll try. The biggest difference in my opinion is in the upper register in that the highs are warm and subdued. It has plenty of low end thump which doesn't differ that much from my Spruce banner J-45. The mid range timbre is different but I haven't figured out how to describe it. Maybe I'm over thinking it, I just need to play it!
