Casino pups

My next purchase I'm hoping will be a casino in the not too distant future. Used to have one and to this day I still regret gettin rid of it. Anyway, the 61 reissue has plastic covers on the P90's but the standard epi has chrome covers. It got me thinking. What is worst for feedback, the chrome covers or plastic covers?

From Jason Lollar's site:

The Epiphone Casino (also the Wildcat) is a "whole different animal" although it looks a lot like a standard dogear set.

Your first decision is whether or not you want to use the chrome covers. Something to consider is that with plastic covers the pickup will have a little more high end—the metal covers will reduce the top end a little bit. Also, the metal covers have a tendency to feed back microphonically, even if the pickups are potted to an extreme.

Well, I prefer the plastic covers (I have them on all of my P-90 guitars, 4), but then only one pickup is stock, out of 7. So it's not really an apples-to-apples comparison. As I've mentioned before, I dont play loud enough to have feedback "issues", but I can get controlled feedback (Bluebird-Buffalo Springfield) whenever I want. I also like the more open sound of the plastic covers, but a lot of that could be that the pickups are different (magnets, windings, etc). There are plenty of people that love the sound of their Casinos and Wildcats with chrome covers. All of the pickup makers that I've talked to, have told me thats it's a huge hassle (if not impossible) to change a stock chrome cover to a plastic one, let alone find a plastic coverr that fits correctly. No right answer, here.
