Should I buy an ES-335 without the COA or does it not matter?

Hi I've seen an ES-335 i'm interested in purchasing but it does not include the Certificate of Authenticity. Should I get it or not as the guitar itself is all original and in mint condition with the case but does not have the paperwork.

Would like some thoughts on this please.

Is it important to have that too with the guitar from a players perspective or only if you are selling it to a collector?

Thanks

Elliot

Well, it is one way to help validate its authentic. If you are buying from an Gibson authorized dealer, they wouldn't risk selling you a fake for fear of what Gibson would do if they found out.

If I was sure the guitar in question was the real deal and I really like the guitar, it wouldn't be a show stopper, but I would probably be willing to pay less for it than one that had the COA.

I'm always amazed how many people actually manage to hang onto all the stuff that comes with a new guitar. I'm pretty good about it, but not 100%.
