I would guess given price of new and depending on where in the world you are (USA, Canada, UK)
1989 is just after Norlin and start of Henry times.
In played condition probably $1500usd
In excellent mint possibly $2200

50 vs 60 really points to neck thickness more than anything.
So pick by what you think you play best, thicker neck or thinner neck
Also remember you can always add more gain to a low output pickup.
You can not take away gain from a high output pickup

there's no super magic.. people talk about oils and what's it made of etc.
just buy a product like Dunlop 65 or Gibson's .. you're only putting a few drops on it in the first place.. you're not marinating steaks.
buy some 0000 steel wool (that's 4 zero's,, don't just less) .
pull the strings.. put a few drops of fretboard oil on it between frets on the board.. rub the fretboard with the steel wool all the way down.. wipe with a clean cloth.. and yer done.

Yes lighter fluid is a cleaning agent, yes safe on nitro.
Yes the the finish gets wrecked with some T shirt surfaces. No namptha will not fix it.
Same goes with mosquitoe spray like OFF, it will wreck a nitro finish ( found out the hard way)
Also you missed Gig rule #1: never advertise another band when you're playing a gig.
From what I know about nitro surfaces, you'll probably want to get some nitro from Stewmac, put it on the effected area
Nitro will blend into itself.
Since it's on the back, if it was me I'd leave it as a gig scare

All I can say is I'm jealous of anyone that got yo be locked down and had time to play more.

Or if you have to, there is the height adjustment nut on the underside of that in the control cavity

I thought when they added one of the many versions of powered tuners at one of the "Henry " years it stood for Technology

@Renato this thread is from 2011.
I suggest getting yourself an imgur.com account loading in picture of your guitar and starting a new thread and not use one from 2011... 9 years old
Never seen a real Gibson use an MSM serial number
-
Although quite an old thread, I remember Guitar Centre years ago was using a serial number format like that
R8 58
R9 59
R0 60
Reissue

Ask them to remove the truss rod cover and take a picture of the truss rod nut.
I should be a nut not allen key

At first i thought the same way, but the previous owner said that the guitar might be stolen 30 years ago. So it explains 7 number serial
Stolen would not account for a extra digit in the serial number.
-
With the crack repair in the back of the headstock, I'd almost say head was replaced from another guitar.
That would account for oddball serial number
Just guessing out loud

I second use of a black sharpie,
Otherwise leave it

And they have been put up so high on a pedestal that only Joe Bonamassa and football team owners can afford them.
But at least Bonamassa tours with some of them, and actually knows what to do with them, unlike football team owners
Chalk it up to a 9yr old thread though

Have you tried lowering the pickup height?
Backing it away should change tone and unfortunately or fortunately will lower the output a bit
-
The fret board looks dry
He's probably feeling the fret edges,
Probably needs to hydrate the fretboard

I won't go a dime over $49,900 for that case.

Shouldn't that read $49,900.09

Tuning instability is due to the string break-over angle of the tune-a-matic bridge and nut. These are design flaws. Replace the bridge with a roller type and replace the nut with a Tusq type and it should be much better.
In One Word.. NO..
it's not the break angle over the TOM and Bridge and no need to go to roller nut or roller bridge. (oh BTW, your strings CAN touch the back of the bridge and still be a great sounding guitar)
the design is more than 60yrs old and there are literally thousands (millions ) of guitars that stay in tune.
thanks for bringing up a post from 8 years ago,, (2012).. I'm sure RJames1973 hasn't gotten his guitar fixed by now and will be resolved with your reply.

Looks like a Les Paul jr Double Cut.
Just checked a 2019 on sale at a big Guitar store in Canada lists at 800cdn
But then again the pick guard doesn't look like a LPJ
-
@LucasLorenzo Gibson still hand scrapes the binding with a straight razor.
Looks like the razor "chattered" while in process,
Depends on how well you like the rest of the guitar, it can be fixed up , should be under warranty.
Or do what everyone else in USA does, return it

There was another thread on here about a year or two ago about that screw.
Not sure if I can find that post

Unforeseen import fees
in Gibson USA
Posted
If you're shipping from Gibson Gibson USA to say your brothers house in New Jersey usa you'll be fine,
But if you're in anyother country you must pay an import fee to your government.
The courier is to collect on behalf of your country (plus brokerage fees) and forwards that VAT/GST/HST off the the appropriate government agency.
It's been that way for over 100yrs (remember they dumped tea into a harbor)
Not a surprise at all,
