Well done.

Very nice CW, enjoy! I have a SS Crow CW myself that has pretty much claimed first place with me among my Gibsons. … That AJ has caught my eye, hmm.

Well done, and get well soon. Sounds better there than here on caring level!

Great post! Much appreciated, re: time and trouble. I have a Plate Mate from StewMac on an old Norlin SJ and it does the trick, but your own plate looks much more effective. Well done.

Yea, I don't do well with change either … especially on these infernal devices.

I wash my hand before I play a guitar. That helps the strings last.

I have a 73 SJ I have kept, but I would for certain have to be able to play and inspect from that era before a buy.

I don't know about satin, but I have polished a couple of VOS finishes to gloss without any problems...……. if that helps your thought process any.

Well Done.

Stayed for the entire video. Nice Les Paul guitar!

Good luck with this one. I know what you mean. I maintain a 58RI from 2008 and an old The Paul in my collection. The weight of the 58 has always kept me from being comfortable playing and enjoying it. Great guitar for a young strong back, but that isn't me. Hope though, you are happy this time with your new LP. It sure is pretty!

I second this, although you sacrifice volume I can still get what I need (especially w/ a mic or p'up). I feel it's just plain easier to stick with the fingers (not long fingernails either). Probably lots of reasons why this doesn't work, but I say simpler is better...
I third it. Have preferred my own nails since it all began.

Yea, guess I'll suspend all my endorsements.

And one vote for John Pearse 12s phos brz. I try everything and always come back to these on all my guitars, including two J-45s. *Give yourself and the guitar some time together. Good luck!

So …………………………………………… I believe I'll just pass on the 10 day thing then as it's all just too subjective to step into any deeper.

I ran the ToneRite at mid for 72 hours on two Gibsons mentioned early on here. I was cautious about the setting and hem-hawed about the results. I'll fire it up on high and let it go for ten days and see if I notice anything more conclusive. Have to pick out a guitar I'm willing to use as a tester first. Will probably use a Quilt Bird for this time around.
