  1. What kind of price tag would I be looking at if I was looking to buy one of these?

I paid $2,000 back in June of 2007. If you can find one now it should be about the same, but it would probably be used since I doubt a new one would be sitting in a store this long. Since it probably would be used, I would expect to pay a little less than $2,000.

  2. I'd love to read some opinions of owner of these guitars about playability' date=' finish and tone quality. How do they compare to the usual Gibson line ?[/quote']

As far as I'm concerned, they are part of the Gibson Line, just special finishes. Mine sounds and plays as good as any Les Paul I've ever played. The finish is holding up nicely, but she is only about 2 1/2 years old. I had a professional set-up which also lowered the action as low as "legally" possible and it plays great.

  3. +1

What else? Poplar/Maple top (they can't specify which?)' date=' die cast tuners, one piece wraparound bridge, bolt on neck (bolt on neck!!!). Good grief. I've seen one of these, in Costco I think. Came as a package with an amp and cord etc. The whole deal looked really crappy...like a toy or a prop to trash on stage.

You got that right... I wish all of the guitar bashers would get cheap guitars like the Maestro to destroy rather than their nice LP's or even Strats. +1 to the "Toy Look" you get what you pay for...

  4.

    Ok....mine's 001270344.

Which tells me it was built on jan 12th 2007. The 6th digit is some kinda batchnumber that turns in to a 1 once the 699th guitar of that day has been stamped. So mine was 344th that got stamped that day.

At least...that's what I make of it.

So yours is WAAAAAY newer than mine LPguitarman....hahaha. Mine's almost antique compared to yours=d>

So mine is four days newer, and 272 guitars later in the day respectively. I wonder how many they crank out in a day.

  5. Fast Ferry, I'll have to let you know later. I'm not at home right now. If I remember right, mine was made on January 16th, 2007. I took delivery on June 13th, 2007. I'll look at it and reply again later.

What city are you in? Sure would be nice to jam together with (2) identical guitars. What style of music are you into?

  6. Fast Ferry' date=' one of the main differences between the stock Classics, Classic Antiques, and Standards is the pickups. Respectively, they are as follows: 496R/500T (Classics), 57/57+ (Classic Antiques), and Burstbucker Pros (Standards). As far as aesthetics, most of the recent Classics will tend to be plaintops whereas the Classic Antiques and Standards have flame maple tops. All three have binding on the top and fretboard, but the Classic Antique takes it around the headstock as well.

Here's another shot of a Classic Antique - Fireburst. Good luck in your hunt.

Nice Flame on that Fireburst gromaj. Are you the proud owner?
