I like the meme that shows a husband and wife talking.... wife says, "Now that we're married, you'll need to sell some of your guitars."

Husband says, "Now you're sounding like my ex-wife."

Wife says, "I didn't know you had a wife before me."

    Husband, "I didn't!"

    Haha good one D.

That's been a while. The hangovers these days... I'll tie one on every six months, because that's how long it takes me to forget the horrors of the last hangover.

I'm thinking of taking up not binge-drinking.

I gave up binge drinking in 1989. I drank so much I passed out driving, fortunately my guardian angel is always on standby.

I try. It took me eating a lot of pizza with c-rappy dough before I got it down. I watched Bobby Flay on Food Network one night make dough and said "I can do that". I was in the Army Exchange one day and one of those killer Kitchen Aid mixers was on sale. Snatched it up. My wife can make killer Chocolate Chip Cookies with it.

That kitchen aid mixer will last a lifetime, I think I bought Karen’s in 1993, and since she’s 100% German it gets used quite a bit. Germans have an affection for dough.

Actually its my gut, the fat butt is an expression. I paid the taxes on the house in SC last week. Didn't this country  get started by people who were fed up with paying taxes to a King across the pond? Just sayin.

I’m fed up with our king, any takers? I’ll throw in a c note if you do.

I would have had to travel at least to Texas to throw it in the bay, Lol. I was going to sell it but would not have wanted the next person to deal with something like that.  My gunsmith retired and there's really not a good one left around here.  I did find another one recently but I have another gun I want him to fix first.  After The Black Hawk goes in to be fixed, I want some parts to be case-hardened.

I have a super Blackhawk.44 mag that would only shoot if you pointed the barrel straight up, I had my friend who had a FFL send it to Ruger and they repaired it for free. So maybe that would work for you Butch.

The 3rd or 4th Snark tuner broke again.  Seems they last about 2 years and break.  I'm not buying another Snark. It's the 4 small pieces on each side of the ball that rotates that break.  Once the 2nd one breaks, It's history for the tuner. So I just bout a D" Addario Eclipse tuner to try out. So far I like it as it zeros on the correct pitch easy.  I'll see how long this one lasts.

I’ve had the same problem, broke in the same place. The last one broke a few weeks ago so I used good electric tape on it and holding together so far. I think I’m on the 4th one.

I grew up in MN and remember some brutal winters.  After 3 years on active duty in the Marine Corps and being stationed at duty stations with warm winter climates, I moved back to MN after I was discharged to attend college.  After three more MN winters, I questioned my sanity and moved back to NC in 1984, before ending up in south Texas and subsequently additional locations along I-10 over the years.

Back in my MN days, a lot of people had “tank heaters”  which were spliced into a radiator hose.  The heater was plugged in at night and kept the cooling system from freezing up and also made the heater and defroster work more quickly when the engine was started.  That, and the obligatory piece of cardboard between the grill and radiator.  There was also an additive that you poured in your gas tank that helped keep the gasoline from freezing in the fuel lines.  Forget to use it at your own peril.  Not sure if modern day vehicles make those precautions necessary, but I’m glad I don’t have to research the subject.

As you might expect, I don’t miss those days.  LOL

Minnesota is cold, but we’re the coldest of the lower 48. The coldest I’ve experienced here is -55 F, not windchill either. Last winter it hit -59.7 up north of me. Keeps the riff raff outta here.

Aren't you close to the Canadian Boarder Jim? I've been in Minessota in the cold of winter before.  They have plug in's all over there for the cars. I went there with a brand new van to a dog show and had a dead battery next morning. The van had no plug to plug in Lol.  Yes, I will always remember that year.  But I figure, people who like living in such conditions must love it or they would move? Haha.

Smack in the middle of North Dakota! Maybe a 150 miles up there. Had give my friend a ride to work as that piece of crap Dodge Ram he has won’t start in -25 F. Ford to the rescue again.

Home and bored.  Deb has a bad cough and doesn't know if it's a cold or her draining sinus?  She kept telling me it was the sinus but now has a sore throat and can't talk much. "I Am Staying Away From her."  Haha. I don't want it. She's staying downstairs in the family room  where my puzzle is and every time I go down there, it's, cough cough coughing toward me.

Too cold outside to do anything, the high was 27 degrees.

27 is 44 degrees warmer than here this morning. We’ll be -25 tonight. Keeps the riffraff outta here at least. A bunch of southern people came up to work in the oilfield a few years back and most headed back when winter started.

She is starting to say, Now who is this on the phone. Joking, I tell her, "This is Avie!"  (My oldest sister.)  "Oh, it is not," she says, "Who is it?"  Then I say, "This is John."  (Our son, and we sound the same. ).  But I was over at her house and asked her a bunch of questions she should know and she didn't know any.   Yeah, It seems it runs in the family line.  I keep doing  stuff to try and keep my mind sharp. Playing guitar, learning new songs all the time.  Playing chess helps the most.  I'm certainly not back to what I once was  but I am winning most every game on my Kasparov computer. And I am studying, Secrets of the Russian Chess masters.  Once when I played in Tournament games, an opponent  could make his move and I would always pause a minute to look and think. "If I do this, he will do that, and I could see in my mind 13 moves ahead for me and him.  Also, I could do that in three different variations.  It would be nice if I could find some expert players.  I know one guy, but he refuses to play me so just my computer but it does help the mind to stay sharp.

I like playing chess but I suck,I’ve only played 3 different people, so not much experience and I’m easy to beat.

My mother recently went in to have a medical problem fixed in the hospital. She's back home so I drove over for a visit. Talking to her, it sounds as she might have the beginnings of dementia. I'm not seeking sorrows, and she is 90. Just saying what I did today. My sister & her husband moved in with her from Chicago so at least she has someone to watch her.

    Terrible disease
