No, Multi-Vitamin Piss Yellow was a Limited Edition Guitar Center Exclusive.  It' s not Vintage White either, it's Buttercream.  Little more Yellow than Vintage White.

And you'd better gig that thing Ian!  Shame to walk past that for something else.  Take both!

I don't want to sound sacrilegious, but I have a '17 Gibson LP Tribute T that I put a set of SD Antiquities in with CTS pots and bumble bee PIO caps.  Now, that thing doesn't feel or play like my historics at all.   And it certainly doesn't look as good.  But, when it comes to sound I have to say it really sounds great.  I dare say you may not be able to tell the difference listening to them.  You could easily have something like that for less than $1300.

do you have a video or sound clip of it after you put the SD antiquities? very intrested to hear, i was thinking of changing the pick ups on mine (same model) i like the ones it came with but they sound muddy and lack clarity, i think that guitar would sound great with another pick ups, it resonates so well

  4. I always keep them in their case or gig bag, where i live it gets really humid (can get up to 90%) during the winter. Right now its really hot but still we get like 40-60%! so im a little bit more comfortable to have them out in the room for a day or 2

The only guitar i am not keeping in its bag its my new tribute, but i got it so i can have it always ready besides my sofa

But yes it affects them, during winter my firebird neck got weird and it started buzzing , and i put it away until Summer and now neck is ok

  5. When will it arrive? Hope you love it and keep it!

Im drooling over that same model but in bourbon burst, but im trying to justify having another guitar, i just bought a 2017 tribute (that i loved), i wished these new standards were a little bit less heavy tho

  6. I too played the J45 studio and i was impressed with how good it sounds and the price tag too (around $1500)... my brother and i compared it versus a 2018 j45 standard (like $2500-$2900) and the studio sounded so much better!

but that;s the only 2019 i've played so far, hope GC carries more models in the near future

  7. As has been stated, the cost of human labour has grown exponentially (and beyond the rate of inflation) over the timeline you set out. This has a knock-on effect on the cost of living, the cost of material supply and several other factors.

Gibson guitars ARE expensive, but so are Martin's, Taylors and just about any other brand with high end instruments making up the majority of their line.

Have you done the same price Vs interest rate comparison with Martin guitars? I'd love to know the results and how they compare.

The comparison with Seagull/Godin/Art & Lutherie instruments isn't really a fair one. Their guitars are fine, but are relatively cheaply made guitars with laminate back and sides, inexpensive thin finishes etc etc. Great within their price point, but it's a bit like comparing a moped to a Mercedes. Both will get you from A to B, but I know which I'd rather use.

I'm not sure I get your point about the "laminated neck" of the J15, I also have a laminated neck on my SJ200 and have had them on Doves and other high end instruments, it's a design feature for strength and appearance rather than a cost cutting measure.

yep, more than inflation has to be taken into consideration in the price of a product, there's other factors

  8. Title says it all. I'm excited for the future of this company again. I love the sound, size, playability, and the looks of this guitar. I've had other great, and not so great (Norlin era double braced acoustic) Gibson's over the last few years, and I do believe this is by far my favorite. Thanks Gibson!

Congrats! a week ago i got the chance to play one and i liked it a lot, in fact i liked the studio better over a 2018 J-45 go figure!

    enjoy!
