Wow, talking about a "V" shaped neck! How does that feel, is it kind of chunky?
I really love the wood and the finish!! The inlays and binding are breath taking. Congrats Pip!!

IMHO the other guy would have to throw in closer to $500 to make the deal worth your while.

At first I thought you meant to remove them. Then I twigged on!
Relicing = Creative Destruction. A weird concept if there ever was one.
Yeah, I just don't get it. Why pay thousands of dollars on a guitar that somebody beats the living shitz out of. I prefer my own mojo, I know the bumps and bruises are real!

Speaking of badly cut nuts, since Gibson sets up the guitars with 9's now (another brilliant Henry move), anybody who plays 10's has a "badly cut nut" right out of the factory. So if you use 10's, like 500% of the public, you'll need to go to the luthier and have the nut reworked for 10's, or buy yourself a set of nut files and do it yourself.
Doh!
My new Lester came with 10's

Rabs, you know I got your back! I wish I could like it more than once for ya.
Other than working for Gibson, this must be a dream job for you. It all started with that damn door. 🙂

Oh man that thing is nice! Yeah, if I could afford that, I would have to worry about being homeless!

I couldn't believe this....! What...? Madclapper??!!
I've read about - but never actually had - one of those spit-out-my-coffee internet moments before.
Good grief. Facepalm. Etc.
"MADCLAPPER" Sounds like a REALLY bad STD....!!!

Thanks for the input. There's the maple fretboard as well instead of rosewood, I doubt this model will hold its value as well as the heritage cherry ones. The guitar in question has its share of dents already--it's third hand--but the seller refuses to go lower than 17% off the retail price. Also it was listed as Heritage Cherry first.. could be a genuine mistake.. but I think I'll stay on the lookout for now
ugh maple fretboad! You're wise for moving on. Good luck!

Well, we're going a bit off-topic here so profuse apologies to the OP in advance but no, I don't think so, Bill. A couple of weeks ago, by way of a PM, MacMutt / Wild Bill / Madclapper invited me out for a spot of lunch;
...so I don't think the current post holds any interest whatsoever for our oft-banned yet resiliently boomeranging CAps_LocK-lOVIng lunatic.
How sad. And how long do you reckon he can last this time before the Ban-Stick is given another outing for this quaintly charming buffoon?...
Pip.
I bet he never crossed the pond!

That top and finish is just amazing. That’s borderline Gibson Custom.
That's what's nice about places like Wildwood and Sweetwater, you can pick out the guitar you like the best.
I'm sure your guys looks as awesome, my pics were taken by a professional photographer that uses more than our phones. LOL

I did have an issue with the toggle being loose and being upside down. I had to adjust the action because of fret buzz, but I'm rockin now!!!

Anyway, mine is hot out of the factory and my home smells of vanilla-infused nitro in every room....
I know you'll will go the route that makes you happy.
Myself, I'm having a blast with mine. My son has been playing it too and enjoying it and he is not a fan of Lesters. The only thing I have to say negative is they put .10 strings on the thing.
I hope you would let that ding roll off your back and play the **** out of it. You have an awesome guitar! I would love to see some pics of yours.

Really? My build date was 12/05/19 and there was no felt under the nut. Just a flat-angled pickguard and a dent in the surface of my guitar.
I'm assuming you mean 2018. 🙂 I guess some time between then and the end of may they started putting the felt on.
-
aahhh, you're giving your own special mojo. 👍
Looks to me you may have just bumped here or there. I don't see it as a defect. Your putting your own Stevie Ray into your guitar, and its cools.

My Standard 50s just arrived and I took off the pick guard and there was no damage. Get this, they put a nice piece of felt on the nut to protect the finish. My guitar was out Gibson's door on 05/27/2019. I guess they have been looking into the issue.

I would say the one in the link I sent you was fairly priced. I do agree I would have tried to talk him down a $100 - $200, but not a big deal IMHO

I don't think this gives you the details you are looking for but it appears to be hand wired.

Closest I can see is the Epiphone 635i
