Noel_G
Hi all, Currently own an EJ-200 and did have a Cherry Red Dot until I sold it. Looking to buy another electric, don't get much time to play so I'm not loking to spend a lot of money. Was looking at the LP Special 2 and was wondering if anyone had one and could recommend them. Cheers guys!!!
EvoRider
The Les paul special 2 was my first guitar. a lot of people said they suck but I liked mine quite well. The tuners sucked but at least it kept it in tune. For me it was a great nock around guitar..
Bluemans335
No. It's an entry-level guitar with very cheap materials. To keep them in that price point, they have to scrimp on everything. There are great deals around on set neck Epi's in nice condition. You'll get far more guitar for your money that way.
MisterE
FWIW, I agree in part with Bluemans335 but I can recommend them to a starting musician for their simplicity. An accomplished musician would probably fare better with a mid level guitar. For the record I own an Epi Spec. P-90 just to try a guitar with the P-90 pickups and I am completely satisfied. Hey, you can't go wrong at this price point, it gives you a good picture of the P-90 sound and for $89.00 a really good deal.
Cyphre
Check out the Agile AL-2000, or the Oscar Schmidt OE-20... both are inexpensive, decent quality LP style guitars that are better than a Special II and in the same price range new.
