Dg77
I'm getting some feedback on my classic 57 neck pickup mostly, some on the bridge. I'm wondering if it's just that I'm running my gain too high (higher than I normally would) or if something's not right with the pickup. I'm using a dsl40c with the ultra gain channel at about 3 o'clock on the gain and 9 o'clock on the volume. My new prs se 245 was fine and I thought those pups were a little hotter than the classic 57s. Not a huge problem but hopefully not a bad sign of something wrong with the guitar. deeman
Well if the gain is at 3oclock, i'm thinking its not the pickups. Anything is going to feedback with that much gain.

Ha that's probably true....maybe I can dial it back a little. Lol
Ryan H
My new prs se 245 was fine and I thought those pups were a little hotter than the classic 57s. The wax potting on the 57 Classics is probably a lot lighter than on the PRS SE humbuckers. I've played a number of SE models, and their pickups are heavily potted to handle the high gain they're generally exposed to without squealing. It's the nature of a pickup like the 57 to squeal with that much gain; it wasn't designed for it. -Ryan
