Starpeve Posted March 19, 2014 Share Posted March 19, 2014 For any of you out there who have iPhone/pads I stumbled across a handy little app the other day which is quite impressive and most handy. It's called " Chord Detector" and it works thusly: open the app, select a track from your device's library, hit the button and- voila - it analyses the track and displays the melody chords in real time as the song plays along. It seems fairly accurate and no doubt has limitatations but works pretty well as far as my testing has gone so far. Well worth the few dollars it costs. Hotfoot Posted March 21, 2014 Share Posted March 21, 2014 T'would really be cool to have such a device mic'ed off the lead guitar amp, with little displays on the stage monitors...for thos many times when the set list is abandoned, or using sit-ins.
