BigKahune Posted June 14, 2014 Share Posted June 14, 2014 . Yes! Loosen the strings until you can get it into a shop. I've got a guitar that developed a small crack by the nut on the treble side. onewilyfool Posted June 14, 2014 Share Posted June 14, 2014 John….Loosen string and immediately cover the head stock with some cloth or plastic bag to keep the dust out of the crack. A good luthier can probably make it invisible but not if a lot of dirt gets in there….then they can 't close the crack properly. Sorry to hear !!!
