ballcorner Posted January 13, 2009 Share Posted January 13, 2009 Here is a tip for people seeking collectible guitars - nowhere does this seller mention if the refin work happened before or after the Gruhn evlauation. It also fails to mention if the Gruhn evaluation was remote or in hand. Refinishing of any kind, professional or not, lowers value by at least 50%. As such, this instrument is no bargain. I know that compared with book values this guitar seems like a 'deal' but to a seasoned trader like myself this guitar has to have been a basket case that was saved from the scrap heap if refinishing was necessary.
