cookieman15061
I've always been a fan and admirer of his music and chops, not to mention his writing/producing skills. Pretty excited about getting 4th row tickets for his Pittsburgh show in April. Here's Todd on one of my favorite shows from back in 1989 Night Music. http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=L15grIqrNpo
Jimi Mac
He's absolutely a different animal for sure! I must say I like him now, but never really knew much about him or cared back in the day... Some of his songs got alot of airplay on my local FM rock radio station, so I'd heard of him or at least heard his work if I didn't really know who he was... I truly did enjoy his episode on Live From Daryl's House! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=99qxlboxJVU#t=
surfpup
Whenever TR comes on Deep Tracks on satellite radio in the car my wife says it should have remained deep! I like him though - even the weirder stuff. I also liked some of the 80s Utopia stuff. I had this album and thought it was pretty good despite the obvious attempt to be new wavey. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Asocipso1t8
surfpup
As far as the proggier stuff... hard to beat that first record http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0biMIoOEdjo His stranger stuff reminds of Zappa - with some different instrumentation. This is the stuff that drives my wife crazy
3pu Custom
I have always had great respect for Rundgren - but back in the late 90's, when he did an album of all of his old hits, re-recorded Bossa Nova style . . . that was weird!
Frances50
Saw him in Charleston, S.C. with Ringo Starr and his All Star Band. Great performance.
cookieman15061
Todd is a weird animal. He is unquestionably uber talented, his career after Utopia - Adventures In Utopia for me is unstomachable . I saw him a few years back when he toured for Liars and it was awful. When he played Hello, It's Me, he looked like he was being tortured and had contempt for playing it. I will never go see him again and have more that enough of his music from him as solo Todd and Utopia to keep me entertained. Enjoy the show. I would have liked to say I enjoyed the show I sent to, but I can't. LOL! Todd truly is different. I've seen him a couple times and never a bad show but i have seen him scrap a song 2 verses in that's just not clicking and go in a totally different direction.
