Krusty
Does anyone know what string set Gibson puts on new LP's? I still have the original set on my new Deluxe, and I'd like to know what kind they are. They feel like they're 10's, and hopefully someone knows exactly which set is used. I really like the feel and the tone, and I want to try a couple more sets of the same Gibson strings. Thanks, Pat
GuitarJunkie
If you look up your particular model on the Gibson website, it lists the strings in the specs (near the bottom). Pretty much all Les Pauls now come with Brite Wires .010" to .046".
Krusty
Good suggestion, but unfortunately Gibson doesn't have a page for the LP Deluxe for some reason; maybe that's because that model was only available through MF. I agree that they're probably Brite Wires - thanks!

araT
The Les Paul Deluxe 30th Anniversary came with Les Paul Signature .9 - .46's http://www.gibson.com/products/gibson/Limited/LesPaul30thDeluxe.html T.
GuitarJunkie
The Les Paul Deluxe 30th Anniversary came with Les Paul Signature .9 - .46's T. Keep in mind that that link is almost 9 years old.
araT
Keep in mind that that link is almost 9 years old. Keep in mind the Deluxe was discontinued in 2002, 6 years ago. I had that 30th anniversary page handy and thought I'd comment for that specific model... I've since found the regular Deluxe page in the discontinued section: http://www.gibson.com/en%2Dus/Divisions/Gibson%20USA/Guitars/Discontinuted%20Models/ http://www.gibson.com/products/gibson/LesPaul/Deluxe.html They too came with Les Paul Signature .009-.046. so if MF is supplying them with Brite Wires there's a possibility MF change the strings if the guitar stays 'on the shelf' for extended periods (as would be the case if the OP bought his Deluxe post 2002)
Gibson CS
I found that my fingers became grey when I first played my new LP. String dust perhaps?
