Matter
Hey all, Could someone please advise me if this Epiphone Les Paul Custom is real or fake? The paint trim at the tip of the headstock, and the logo look a bit off to me, but I could use some experienced opinions. These pictures were sent by the seller: http://i.imgur.com/sIbpExx.jpg http://i.imgur.com/Jk4fod3.jpg http://i.imgur.com/eFG4Cvh.jpg http://i.imgur.com/KVUnKjL.jpg
Parabar
These pictures are at such angles that they make it difficult to tell. While I see nothing glaringly obvious as fake, some straight-on photos would be much more helpful.

It's a 2008, so the "n" in Epiphone descends, unlike newer models. I'd say the Epiphonewiki confirms it as authentic.
Matter
Is it normal for the paint trim/binding on the headstock to dip down so much to a point? and the general logo seems really off?
Steve112
Is it normal for the paint trim/binding on the headstock to dip down so much to a point? and the general logo seems really off? It looks normal to me and I've followed many threads about counterfeit guitars. There really isn't much financial incentive to build a fake Epiphone. Even when I've come across the very rare fake, there have been really obvious easy to spot issues with them. (like knobs in the wrong place, really substandard fretwork, crappy tuners, glaring finish flaws, etc.) New or used, I tend to stick with established retailers when at all possible. Again though, this one looks genuine.
