60s country western rope label

anyone know if the 60s to 70s country western labels ever changed from the rope version ? was there only the 1 label, cant seem to find info in my guides or online, Im trying to nail down features on a 69 Im trying out for a few days thanks j

Not as far as I know. The simple, but rather charming lasso-logo seems to remain the same.

 

One of the interesting things about it is that the oval rope itself is a pretty even oval, but the paper-shape around it is uneven and rustic.

If any variation it might be the position of the print - central, a bit north, a bit south, east, west. .

 

Wonder when it's from. Probably the mid-50's.

Probably from about 1955, when the general slope-J changes were made: 20-fret neck, larger pickguard. The earliest ones I have seen with the CW rope label still had SJN (Southern Jumbo Natural) stamped on the centerline back strip.

 

Ol' Fred here had one from about 1956 or 1957 that had the rope label. Can't remember if it had the centerline stamp.

 

They're neat guitars in the slope-J period.
