Speaking of Electronics

I was fortunate enough to see Eric Clapton last week at the Royal Albert Hall. When he started

his acoustic set, his guitar tech plugged in two cables into two separate end pin jacks. Since I know

nothing about guitar electronics, can someone shed some light on his amplification set up?

Here is a video to explain:

He'll have an undersaddle pickup and a little mic in there

Then the two pickups sound can be mixed together

I think 😐

Someone shoot me or back me up

Clapton uses Carlos Juan pickups, which are "a status symbol, the Rolls Royce" of pickups, according to Mr Juan's website.

The marketing spiel sounds like a load of arse, but Clappo does have a pretty sweet plugged in tone, it has to be said.

Here's CJ's website: http://carlosjuan.eu/acoustic-guitar-pickups/high-end/

Then why havent I heard that name before ...?

Carlos' "status symbol" pickups sound like snake oil to me. How is an invisible electronic component a symbol of status?

My "status symbols" are my 19yr old car and the fact I only own one pair of trousers without a hole in them 😂
