Advice Needed: Fender Hot Rod DeVille

Ok so not sure if this is the right area for this post since this isnt a Gibson amplifier ( General discussion may be more appropriate) but I found a 1991 USA made Fender Hot rod DeVille  tube amp for sale locally along with a MIM wine red Strat at a good price. Its almost a 2 hour drive from me and I dont know much about tube amps😬 so I’m kinda out of my league (Ive been acoustic only since I’ve started playing). Its has new tubes and a new front cloth but otherwise all original. I assume replacing the tubes is a normal maintenance thing but IDK. The cab is in a little rough shape but its supposed to function perfectly with no problems, and the guy sounds honest enough (does that even matter these days?).  Anything specific I should look out for or are these amp duds? Im looking at paying $425 for the amp and guitar which seems very fair to me, but I’m no expert on amps. Any help would be appreciated, thanks

That seems like a good deal for the amp and guitar.  As long as the amp seems to sound good, it's worth it.  You might need to have an amp tech go over it and make sure the tubes are o.k. and everything's working well.  That might cost a hundred dollars at the most.  Those are very good amps.

Thanks for the info. I did buy it and he amp is very structurally sound, the guy I bought it from had just went through and replaced all the tubes so they’re all good, and no scratchy pots or anything. The amp sounds great, too, its my first tube amp. We pretty much had to put the guitar together before I bought it (install pickups and all the wiring, and then of course new strings) but it works fine, its my first non-squire strat, though I’m pretty sure Im a tele guy. Thanks to the 2 who replied
