Broken headstock or cracked laquer?

Hi,

I have a Les Paul Studio (10+ years) during the last year it got a crack at the headstock/neck. This crack got slowly bigger over time. Is the headstock broken or is it just a "normal" crack in the laquer? What do you think? Should I give it to a luthier to get it checked or should I wait how the situation develops?

That's a tough call from the pics but looks like some impact damage at the treble side of the nut (pic 1). Also a little misalignment at the area (pic 3). I think I would get a pro opinion.

The pictures are too small to tell. But even then, it's probably hard to tell by looking at those pictures alone. It doesn't hurt to have a professional check her out at hand, now does it?
