Billie Posted July 23, 2019 Posted July 23, 2019 Hi, I have a Les Paul Studio (10+ years) during the last year it got a crack at the headstock/neck. This crack got slowly bigger over time. Is the headstock broken or is it just a "normal" crack in the laquer? What do you think? Should I give it to a luthier to get it checked or should I wait how the situation develops? Here are some pictures:
aliasphobias Posted July 25, 2019 Posted July 25, 2019 That's a tough call from the pics but looks like some impact damage at the treble side of the nut (pic 1). Also a little misalignment at the area (pic 3). I think I would get a pro opinion.
Leonard McCoy Posted July 25, 2019 Posted July 25, 2019 The pictures are too small to tell. But even then, it's probably hard to tell by looking at those pictures alone. It doesn't hurt to have a professional check her out at hand, now does it?
Billie Posted July 25, 2019 Author Posted July 25, 2019 Thanks. Ok. Then I let it get checked out by a pro.
