Leonard McCoy
I'd like to get one for improving recordings with the piezo. The Yamaha ones don't fit unfortunately. Does anyone know where to get proper ones for Gibson acoustics (preferably by Gibson)?
BluesKing777
First step is to measure the soundhole - they can all be very different, but Gibson DREADS are usually close to 4" and Planet Waves happens to have one: https://www.musiciansfriend.com/accessories/daddario-planet-waves-screaching-halt-guitar-soundhole-plug How will this improve recording with a piezo? The plug is best with a dual source pickup with a mic - turn the mic right up. BluesKing777.
rustystrings
If you're talking about the anti-feedback device, the flexible Feedback Buster works beautifully in Gibson flattops. I've used them for more than 20 years in LG-2s and J45s, as well as in Guilds and Taylors. Puzzled by how they would improve recording, though. Leonard McCoy
I went to town on the rubber rim of the Yamaha soundhole cover that I bought with a Japanese kitchen knife to shave off the excess. I didn't take much, it fits perfectly now. It gives the piezo, if you're so inclined to make use of it in the first place, a more natural-sounding, less harsh voice with plenty of oomph. @ 43:30min onwards Edited November 2, 2019 by Leonard McCoy
