Angus23
Hey I recently bought what I was told was a 1984 Epiphone SG. I know obviously that this is bull, as Epiphone only started making the SG in 1989. Can anyone verify if this is a real Epiphone SG. Btw, I've checked for a serial number but can't find one
mihcmac
Looks like a early G-310 possibly a Japan Korean crossover (some partially built in both countries) a lot of these originally had a stick on label SN's and nothing engraved in the chrome neck plate. It is unusual having an Elite style headstock, but Elites are high end and its very doubtful they would have built an Elite SG with a bolt-on neck. So basically it looks to me like an authentic early Epiphone G-310 with an unusual headstock. Edited November 24, 2019 by mihcmac
RobinTheHood
It's a 1989 G310 with the narrow open book headstock, made at Samick factory in Korea. This headstock was only made in 1989 and is a different shape than the elitists. http://epiphonewiki.org/index/SG.php#G-310_2 Edited November 25, 2019 by RobinTheHood
