slide guitar and scale length

hi all - does anyone have opinions with respect to playing acoustic slide and the scale length of a guitar, just out of curiosity was wondering if one lent itself more to slide or not.  thanks to all for any input.

It's just what you get used to.

I played Les Pauls and SG's and ES339 so many years I prefer the short scale. It's familiar. As such I don't like the longer scale guitars except my old Tele and a bass.

thanks much, makes sense...  then I want a short scale dread with 1.75 nut (jumbo reissue does the trick but have never been able to try one and I'm wary of the neck shape being comfortable, but if anyone is looking there's a rockin' deal on reverb right now for $2550  (no affiliation, haven't seen one that low before).   wondering out loud - was there ever a bird or cw with 1.75 nut?).
