000000000000000
Hello, I have a question. I would like to know if it is possible to paint gibson explorer tribute 2019 in another colour without ruining or damaging any aspects of it e.g perl logo or balance of the guitar when it is hanging? Finish of my guitar is ebony matte. I have few scretches on surface. They are around 0.5 mm to 1mm in depth. So what I want to know is if I will paint they guitar will these scratches still be visible? If painting is not a good variant to remove them then what should I do? (Pls no sticker advises). Why am I asking for help? Because i got these scratches in a most stupid way and unfair way. I have not played guitar for a week and when I took it I placed it on my shorts where my pocked was and the zip line had a very sharp point on it. So after playing one hour I found out that I have multiple scratches. I know that a man's guitar should look battle-scarred but all the scarrs should come from battles if you know what I mean. Pinch
I wouldn't do anything to it. Sh-t happens. I've done the same thing but with an open fly. Zippers scratch.
kidblast
Try some scratch remover, It wont undo this but it will improve the effected area. There's some made for Guitars (Eterna Shine Players kit comes to mind) but something like Maguires Scratch X works too.
RoyC
Yo will have to get rid of the scratch before painting or you will still see it.
Pinch
Just don't. Big project, loss of aftermarket value. Those are minor scratches. You'll thank me later, trust me.
RoyC
Clean it with naphtha and touch it in with a fine pencil brush. That would put me off buying that guitar but maybe not every one.
