NUCCIO
How would you go about repairing a nib on my Custom '94? It's a small crack on the 11th fret (see photo attached) so I'm hoping that I can fix it myself. Thanks in advance.
NUCCIO
Anyone ? Being reading around and people mentioned Celluloid, Bone or Corian mixed with Super Glue to fill the gap... Any recommendation from this group?
Dave F
I feel for you. Personally I would post this in the Les Paul forum. I think you will get more response. https://forum.gibson.com/forum/56-gibson-custom/ Edited February 13, 2021 by Dave F
Leonard McCoy
It is hard to tell from looking at the snapshot whether the nib is completely or partly broken off, or still hanging onto there to some degree. If you still have the missing piece, it can be super-glued back on; if it's gone, it's probably best to get rid of the nib remnants, and round off the fret with a file, so the string no longer gets stuck on the sharp fret edge.
