Falcon81
I just picked up an ES339 and am trying to date it. I believe it may be a 13 or 14. It has an ME serial on the back of the headstock. The inside is painted black and I know only certain years did this. The finish may be antique red? It has some nice wood grain ( can't be seen in this pic) also the binding and pickup switch is very yellow compared to a satin model I had which was a lighter cream colour. Any input would be appreciated, thanks. Edited March 8, 2021 by Falcon81
Rabs
Hello.. Well the ME means it was made at the Memphis factory.. Then I think with those models its the first number of the serial number that states the year... If you want to be certain, email Gibson customer service with pics of the guitar and the serial number and the should be able to confirm it for you.. Very nice guitar by the way colour is Cherry Red or Vintage Cherry... Something like that.
