gibsonrene
THe guitar is in top condition but the problem is with very high hissing noise when you do not play the guitar, this means when the amp is on and the guitar is plugged in...but when you start playing it the hiss goes away....so I can touch the strings and still the hissing is there...so strong my ears hurts....I already have les paul standard and there is some feedback on it too and also my fender...but on this Custom there bridge pickup just creates so much hissing it is unbearable.... I just bought it 2 days ago and I want to sell it also I dont want to pay some guy to try all kind of stuff to remove that hissing too.... so what is going on? I am really dissapointed..... that high pitch hiss can be heard at 0:40 in the video with bridge pickup , it is super annoying and it hurts your ears....and also 0:55-1.00 Like I said I own lp standard from 2015 and fender strat 1996 and both dont give out that hiss sound...it is unbearable... here is the video Edited October 23, 2021 by gibsonrene
rct
Microphonic pickup. Needs to be replaced, or taken out and properly potted. Not a huge deal, but a very annoying problem, especially at reasonable gains and volumes. rct
NighthawkChris
Electronic issues with a guitar are easily overcome. If the wood is good, that’s the part imho to be most concerned with - can neck be made straight, etc. I’ll bet you’ll like that sentence haha! But seriously wouldn’t sweat electronic issues that much especially with a LP.
