Juansojo07 Posted May 26, 2022 Share Posted May 26, 2022 Just received my brand new straight out of the box 70s Gibson Explorer and after playing it for a few hours I noticed hairline cracks on both sides of the neck where it meets the body. jdgm Posted May 27, 2022 Share Posted May 27, 2022 Unfortunate but not uncommon at that point (neck to body join) especially with the white finish, which makes it far more noticeable. However though unsightly it is nothing to worry about. It is probably due to the wood of the neck moving very slightly, and the paint sinking in.
