Fixing output jack on ES335 what would you do?

Recommended Posts

Hello All,

Recently picked up ES335 for a killer price. The output jack allow the male end of the instrument cable  does not secure within the input jack. Essentially if you are mobile the male end will fall out due to no tip arm not securing tip of male instrument cable.

I have two options.

Replace the jack...Is this easy, as just slipping through the F Hole and putting in the new one.

Some how fish string into the jack and pull the  tip arm back in place

What would you do?

You should be able to unscrew the retaining nut at the socket, carefully pull it out (there should be enough slack in the wires) and adjust/bend the arm enough for it to make contact.

If there is any rust/corrosion, clean that off with some fine sandpaper or the blade of a screwdriver.

Make sure the whole guitar is on a stable, big surface!

That, or have a luthier do it. It's cheap.
