heymisterk
A teacher I work with just picked up a mid-'90s Hamer Studio. It was a double-cutaway, unbound, with a subtle but beautiful maple top and a JB/'59 set-up. Chrome Shaller tuners. I know about Hameritis, but didn't see any. I had never played a Hamer before, and it was sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet! The attention to detail and construction was as good or better than any Gibson CS stuff I've seen...at a fraction of the cost. Makes me wonder about my next purchase...
NeoConMan
American Hamer guitars are easily the equal of Gibsons from the few that I've played. Problem is finding one. Most Hamer dealers are loaded to the gills with Chinese imports that comprise the vast majority of their sales. Prices on American Hamers are not easy to swallow, but they are top-notch guitars. I would LOVE to have a Hamer Standard (Explorer) in cherryburst and Vector (Flying V) in either burst or Korina. Lotsa $$$$$$$$$....

Rocky4
I've brought this up many times but, because I'm an idiot, I sold an early '80s Hamer Sunburst. I started playing when I was 14 and stalled out a few years after I bought the guitar. Thinking I was not cut out for guitar, I sold it.
