ibis
That's the beauty of wood.....easy to repair. If this was the Royal Navy, they'd fit a new body and still claim it was still all original. That's what they've done to Nelson's flagship HMS Victory in Portsmouth Dockyard, UK. There is very little original wood left and yet it is still considered to be the original ship! How far can you go with a guitar repair before you lose the original? For example is David Gilmour's black Strat still the original one despite being on its umpteenth neck? To partially answer my own question, necks seem to be replaceable, but probably not bodies. There must be a line where 'All Original' becomes a replica. Otherwise you could divide one guitar and make many from the rebuilt fragments. I wonder where that line is? Any suggestions?
