Big Bill
Go for the 2002 Standard. Much more old school than the 2008.
DeVeeWee
I'd go as well for the "Buy me a 2002 Les Paul Standard (cherry sunburst)"
swleary
Still not sure about the 2002. Long &McQuade in Canada brought the price down $75.They also have another one that has had the frets redressed and that is $400 cheaper. Decisions ,decisions lol
Tim Plains
Scott should look for a used R8 at Mark's Guitar Loft or give Center City Music a call. Both are in the US. With our dollar being what it it, you'd be foolish not to try them. Unless you already own a historic, I wouldn't spend money on a Standard. Tim Plains
$2,300 for a 7 year old Standard? HELL NO!! I paid $2,200 for my 2009 Traditional, new. Â I've seen one year old R8s & G0s on Mark's site for $2,200 US. What's that, $2,300 Canadian? Please, can somebody else here who's owned both Gibson USA and a historic support me here? Scott, have you played an R8? There's no comparison, really. That's not a knock to Gibson USA but...
Big Bill
That is way to steep for a used Standard.
swleary
See and here I thought it was just me. I think L&M have been smoking something. Maybe I should email Steve about it. Â Haven't played an R8 yet, maybe someone who has one can let me try it lol
swleary
I'd offered them $1900 but that was there counter offer was $2300. Might just stick with my studio
Tim Plains
There's no point in complaining about L&M prices to L&M. Those are their prices. If you really want one of those Standards, just walk into the store with cash in your pocket and see what they say. I sold my '06 Standard for $1,750 and you might get lucky and grab one off eBay for $1,200 - $1,500. Â My R8? Nah, you wouldn't want to play that ol' thing... swleary
Luckily for me I have until Dec.8 to take my studio back (30 day guarantee) . I'd hate to do it but a guy has gotta do what a guy has to do lol. Â Your R8 , hmmmm well if you really want to get rid of it lol

DeVinci13
I honestly don't know what L&M are smoking sometimes. They will never deal on their prices, and since they are the only Gibson dealer in Winnipeg, it is take it or leave it. So, I left it. I got a brand new 2009 Gibson Les Paul Traditional Plus from Sweetwater for $1750 US, and no taxes. L&M can keep their LP Traditional at $2495 plus 12% taxes on the wall. Oh, wait, it has been, for 11 months.
