albertjohn Posted December 18, 2009 Share Posted December 18, 2009 I played one of these at my teacher's workshop this week. It is a Custom Shop guitar and a real beauty. We briefly compared the sound to my regular rosewood SWD and both agreed there was little difference. The Koa was certainly a shade mellower but retained the growl and "in your face" quality of the rosewood but in a more cultured way. (That's the best I can do.) Space Pup Posted December 18, 2009 Share Posted December 18, 2009 If memory serves correctly those were a Musician's Friend exclussive a few years ago and Guitar Center had an all koa (back, sides, top, and neck) exclusive around the same time.
