doublecutjr
Just checking the Gibson site today and noticed that they have a few Japanese Market Les Pauls, a junior, a special, and another model. Does anyone know if you can purchase one of these from the USA? They have a few really nice models but was wondering why they would not market them here in the USA? maybe test marketing??? Anyone know? Thanx
pohatu771
I don't particularly like the looks of the double-cut, but the Junior and Special are quite nice. There is a 1960 Historic Les Paul Junior like that one, but it costs twice what that non-historic will retail for.
FirstMeasure
So, are the ones made for the Japanese Market made in Japan?
pohatu771
So' date=' are the ones made for the Japanese Market made in Japan?[/quote']No. There are/were Japanese-made Epiphones with Gibson headstocks and (sometimes) nitro finishes for the Japanese market, but Gibsons are made in USA. It's odd that those guitars would be on the website - there are other Japan-only models, and have been for years, that aren't ever featured. Mr. Robot
My goodness DoubleCut Jr. I would kill for an affordable doublecut jr in Cherry. Thanks for pointing it out. In terms of why it is on the US website? - I think the answer is simple - Gibson is testing the American market i.e. teasing us - to guage the level of interest/demand. Looks like I will have to save up more pennies.
