RASHARU
I've been considering buying one these late 60's model Gibby C-O classicals. Can anyone give me a little history or detail on these guitars?
grampa
I lived with one for 20 years. Not a bad guitar. Good volume but a bit unsophisticated and built like a Mack truck compared with many classicals that are light and fragile. I could play everything on it from delicate classical to pounding rock. I would love to have mine back but the last time I saw the fellow I sold it to, he was too embarassed to tell me what happened so I figured it met an ugly demise at the hands of the psycho woman he was living with. ksdaddy
I've had a couple. I will echo what Grampa said. I currently have a '58 C-6, which shares a lot of the personality, just slightly more refined.
fortyearspickn
I bought a new '63. Only had it a couple of years. Solid as noted above. They are relatively inexpensive now, compared to other 'vintage' Gibsons. I would get one if I weren't adverse to the wide fretboards of classicals. A very plain, basic but well built guitar.
