SG-3 Confusion

I have seen several SG-3 guitars on ebay which makes the claim that only 300 were made. I too own the same SG-3 and asked Gibson about it and they said that they did not know how many were made. Can anybody verify or debunk these claims being made?

He doesn't claim that only 300 were made, he wrote The first 300 guitars of this series were specially ink stamped in series on the back of the headstock with their serial numbers. This guitar is #139 of those first 300.

Well whatever is up he has discontinued the listing since I posted this a few minutes ago. People on ebay are making claims that they are limited editions and only 300 were made. 150 in Ebony and 150 in Heritage Cherry. Some are saying only 400 were made.

Finally got the answer and permission to use the answer to debunk all these false claims. Thanks to all that helped.
