Building a Guitar Rack Stand (UPDATE 3)

Simple one.

Take a 1x8x(how ever long a rack you can put on a wall).....

2" wood dowel cut into 6" "pegs"

screw the pegs in to the plank from the back

Space them to fit your guitar case width

Paint or stain

mount to wall

Cheap and easy and quick......[cool]

the shelf/table thing is optional.......... made with pine boards(1x12's) screwed in a double center H design.

I'd put some more room in that slot... seems awful close

I'm not sure, it has a decent amount of room....enough for the cloth lining to fit around..

I made each slot 3 cm wide.

I may widen the one acoustic slot because the acoustic neck is bigger....

I'll post some more pics later.

Its raining heavily here so I didn't get the tacks yet....:-$

I hate all these delays.

I just leave them in a tall cupboard....thats kinda my gear cupboard....I got to remove the poles that were used for clothes and I have 2 hardshell cases, one soft case, the pedal train soft case and an old amplifier in there..

Thanks.

Here's the last set of pictures.

First, tacking on the other side's cloth was a PITA

Finished there and started the back.

I think I was using the pipe to start the thumbtack into the wood because my thumb, by this point was aching.

All done!

As you'll see in later pics the material is a lot darker than shown in this pic.

And I put some material in the neck slots and let it come over the front piece a little so if the guitar rubs on it, it won't get scratched.

Lastly. guitars in stand and next to the amps.

Thats all till I get little clips for each neck slot, some wheels (maybe) the tolex for the outside and neaten up the cloth on the neck slots because once again, I have run out of tacks and my Krazy Glue is all dried up.
