Sorry, just seen the typo in my previous post, these are "SIX INCH"long heavier Trapeze Tailpiece`s with the larger Diamond, just like on the Kalamazoo originals and current Lennon reissue`s,and because they are imperial i had to fill and re-drill the holes, but it was way worth it!!.Frenchie.

I played a nice EJ160 last week...used korean' date=' but they wanted 550! could easily

see it swapped over to LH

3rd grade, my mom's original copy of sgt. pepper's, I would listen every day at recess

around the turntable, around 1978 or so...strange to think at that point they had

only been broken up for about 8 years...equivalent to me looking back on 2000 right

now...time is a bizarre concept...I am also now roughly the same age as mccartney was

when I was listening in 3rd grade

So......... You're 8 years older than Paul McCartney?? Wait a minute.... That can't be right... You're as old as Paul McCartney was in the 3rd grade?? No.... wait...

I'm confused...

Hi' date=' Notes, Can you give me info on the GFS knobs on your Casino? Are they for USA pots or metric pots. Love that pickguard, info please. Thanks Alrie [/quote']

Hi Alrie,

Sorry, I don't know how to tell the difference :-( and the previous owner of the guitar put them on. If there is an easy way to tell the difference (without removing them) let me know and I'll be glad to report.

The previous owner replaced the pots and toggle switch with USA parts (the USA witch hat knobs and switch cover fit), So I wonder if he/she did the same with the Grovers(???)

Comparing the Casino with the 1970 ES-330 (similar guitars), I don't find much difference between the way the Klusons on the Gibson and the Grovers on the Epiphone stay in tune. The Klusons do need a drop of teflon lubricant in the hole every 5 years or so, but that isn't a problem, since I keep that on hand to lubricate the moving parts on my saxes and flute.

IMHO upgrading to the Grovers wasn't a necessary mod (although it didn't do any harm either). But then the Klusons on my Gibson are 38 years old, Kluson may not make them that well anymore. Note: My changing the pickguard, knobs and switch cover wasn't necessary either, but I like the guitar better that way.

The best thing I've ever done to keep my guitars from going out of tune is to put pencil lead in the grooves of the nut. Especially since I bend strings a lot when I play, the pencil lead keeps the strings from binding in the nut, therefore allowing them to return to their tuned up position.

Now that I have the black pickguard, switch cover and witch hat knobs, there isn't anything I want to change on the Casino except for the strings once a month or so.
