joshyguitar93
hi i was wondering whether the toggle switch should be pointing straight if u get me (in other words not at an angle) could i turn it round or not, bearing in mind i've got a hollow body electric. thx
TWANG
if you turn a toggle it will twist the wiring inside.. could break or short out.. if you were careful.. look in there and see what's up with a small mirror and a light.. you could do it. some like them moving forward and back. some up and down. you got one at an angle.. if you don't like it.. be very careful and move it. yosoybay
Remove the back cover plate. While holding the switch in place from the hole in the back (so as to not twist the switch and damage the connections like TWANG said), loosen the "nut" on the front a bit. Then, reposition the switch how you want it and tighten the nut. Then, of course, put the cover plate back on.
TWANG
are there any semis with a cover plate? if he has none that's where the mirror and light come in handy. only way to see how the wires are resting in there.
Biff
... or, you could just fix it once and for all

Good point. I didn't see the part where he said he had a hollow-body. I'm not familiar enough with those to know which models have/don't have a cover plate.
