Firebird VII mini buckers to p-90 swap?

apparently, everyone says that a p-90 will fit a mini-bucker route.

But the question is: is everyone talking about the soapbars or the dogears???

I've been thinking about changing one of the minis for a p-90 in my firebird for quite some time, but i don't no which one to get (i like the dog ears better :))

Thanks for the help (as always)

I think whoever told you that has obviously never tried it. The P-90 rout (not 'route') is a lot wider than the mini-HB rout. They are probably confused because there are adapter rings that let you put a mini-HB in a P-90 cavity; however the reverse is not possible without removing wood.

I've gotta agree w/ bluesstringer.

Birds are pretty unique w/ the mini-hum & slab mahogany sound.

I myself am GASing for a solid w/ P90s (got to play 'em- havn't owned one, yet)

Looking toward an Epi or maybe even a Hagstrom.

But whatever you decide,

Don't carve up that Bird for the sake of a P90, dogears or not.

...just my opinion.

As you can see, my english is not very good O:)

Of course i'm not getting into carving the wood!!!!

If the p-90 fitted the ROUT (i'm learnig :) i would exchange the middle pickup for a p-90. I love the minis very much, but the ones on my firebird aren't that good... i guess i'll go with the minis with adjustable pole pieces.

as always, thanks everyone for the help!!!!!
