TheX Posted October 11, 2008 Posted October 11, 2008 Apparently they aren't selling like they thought they would. http://www.musiciansfriend.com/navigation?N=100001+707195
ef_in_fla Posted October 11, 2008 Posted October 11, 2008 I guess not. Personally I'd get the trans red premium plus, do my own tuning, and save $100.
leicester35 Posted October 11, 2008 Posted October 11, 2008 Yeah, I noticed the green SGs over at Sweetwater. I don't see the point of these robot guitars at all. I guess it means that at a gig you can change into open tunings quickly for slide. Personally, I find it's even quicker just to have another guitar tuned to open D on the stand behind me. Plus, the guitar I use for slide will be actually set up for that purpose. Of all the extra specifications I could think of for a guitar, self-tuning by computer would be pretty low on my list. I'm not suprised they're not selling. As I recall, the review in Guitar Player of the LP Robot basically read like, "great guitar but self-tuning kind of sucks."
TheX Posted October 11, 2008 Author Posted October 11, 2008 I know one person that is a very gifted guitarist and collects some beautiful pieces and he loves the robot. I know more people that have owned them and gotten rid of them though. One out of a LOT isn't a good ratio.
stan 58 Posted October 11, 2008 Posted October 11, 2008 I've got A red studio plus from 2002 and its the best Les Paul i've ever played. And who does'nt like a green guitar?Stan.
