TWANG Posted November 3, 2008 Share Posted November 3, 2008 Just glancing through this new catalog.. If MF if having any money probs, it sure isn't showing up in this thing. They've done a much better job on the layout, and I think it's better for finding what you want, and has more guitars and gear than usual. Three pages in the epi section.. and quite a few guitars there.. as well as epis well listed in the package pages. Top that off with some more epi pages later on.. including some elitists I haven't seen before. In the reg. epi pages we find the riviera with three p90s dog ears and a bigsby. 499.00!!.. holy cow.. that's a lot of epi for that money. The Elitist lp standard plus.. 1252.00 made it to those pages, too. Beauty, gotta say! After amps and such.. there's a bonus section for guitars. Two more pages of epis. Check out the Elitist Country deluxe semi hollow... a little pricey, sure.. 2200.00 but woo! Gotta be giving Gretsch some competition with that one. Elitist sheraton and casinos of course.. and a byrdland, too. nice holiday edition.. better thought out than some catalogs. still a little busy for my taste, but I suppose they need to watch the bottom line or something. I wont mention other brands, but I will say there's a ton of guitars in here I haven't seen before anywhere.. and it seems like the manus must be doing pretty well to be competing that hard and deep. Those Lagunas sure seem to be trying to take a bite of Fender.. *guess I did mention other brands*. I've never seen one though so.. can't say much except they use a lot of humbucks as well as single coils, and wilkinson trems.. great! My only problem is the 'massive gain' blurb.. guess the pups are all high output. Check the catalog out.. the epis alone will make you drool. TWANG Yeah, several of us (on the forum) snapped up that Riviera in a hurry! Awesome guitar!! Almost unbelieable, to me anyway, at that price point. TWANG Posted November 3, 2008 Author Share Posted November 3, 2008 I hate to say it but it's what my blondy has been turning into, save the middle pickup. sheesh. and cheaper than a sheri by a long shot. three pickups and a bigsby for that money? and those epi p90s are darn nice to start with.. so, maybe keep 'em. that'd leave one lousy mod for me.. locking grovers. man... even my wildkat jones has receded a bit!
