Casino bridge question

you have to drill the holes.. and space them correctly.. then you have to press in the bushings.

on a solid body they use a drill press.. making the holes smaller and then using quite a bit of pressure to get the bushings in

very tight.

without a center block or solid body that can be a bit tricky.

so you'd probably make the holes a bit bigger.. and maybe use a bit of glue in there.. a pretty permanent change.

Of course, you wouldn't want them out later anyway most likely.

So yes, it can be done.

You know, there is argument about stop tail versus tailpiece.. some people say the tailpiece actually improves tone as it's shooting

the tone right back to the heel.. but on a casino without a center block, I'm not really sure that's true.

Jazz guys sure like the trapeze tail though!

My question is: Can the top withstand the stress?

I wouldn't think so. If one really wants a stop tailpiece and an Epiphone, then the Sheraton's probably the way to go. I think it's the same price, and it's a great guitar.

yep. I'd hate to push a tight bushing in there.. and that bigsby is going to add it's own pressure.. I guess I should have said that instead

of just inferring it.

It's a laminate top.. and fairly thick.. but boy.. that bigsby would be stressing it pretty hard.. you'd probably eventually

start to warp it or crack it outright.

so.. to clarify, you can.. but is it safe? I doubt it.

Trade that casino in on the riviera with three p90s and a bigsby already installed!
