olson1
I recently purchased a Lennon 1965 casino, which is either a B-stock or the body is a factory leftover. The guitar looks great except the the pickguard and truss rod cover are wrong. The pickguard is a 5 ply and the E foil logo was applied incorrectly and the cover is 3 hole on stead of the 2 screw version. Does anyone know where I could get a correct lennon 1965 pickguard and truss cover? Thanks for all your help
charlie brown
Are you sure that's a "Lennon" '65 Casino, and not a coverted Elitist? Where did you purchase it? From an authorized Epiphone dealer, or from "e-bay," or a private seller. "Lennon" mods, to Elitist and even standard Casino's are pretty common. Does it have his serial number, or the correct blue (and white) lables, inside the "f" holes? Nitro or Poly finish? (Real Lennon versions have Nitro) Something definitely sounds "fishy," here. olson1
Yeah it has the proper kalamazoo and lennon stickers inside and the proper serial number on the headstock. I'm usually weary of buying stuff like this too, but im pretty sure its authentic.

Thanks for all your help[/quote'] Sounds like someone slapped some pickups and hardware on one of those Gibson Yard Sale hundred dollar specials and sold it to some unsuspecting soul on E Bay..I blame Gibson for this...they know that these are going to end up on E Bay as being authentic.. pohatu771
I dream of the day I stumble into a Gibson yard sale... I wouldn't be selling it, I'd be playing it.
olson1
The hardware isn't authenitc (but is period correct) and was put on after; The body and guitar itself though was originally intended to be used as a Lennon 65. I paid 1000 for the guitar, do you think I overpaid?
