Elitist LP's pup selector is jacked up

Is the volume knob all the way down on the neck pickup when this happens? If either knob is all the way down, you will have no signal in the middle position. If that's not what you're talking about, you may have a bum switch. It's a fairly inexpensive fix, if you trust yourself with a soldering iron. If not, a shop shouldn't charge more than 40 or 45 bucks.

there are two long metal strips.. they make contact when you switch.. they sometimes don't have enough tension to make that contact..

a needle nose pliers and gentle pressure fixed mine up.. squeeze 'em together..

you don't really even have to take the switch out on an lp to get at 'em.

another thing is dirty contact points.. some use a cleaner.. spray cleaner..

I use a bit of emery paper.. I put it between the treble contact points, drag it through.. about an inch or so of paper

then turn it over and do that again.

then repeat both ways on the rhythm side..

It could be a loose wire, too.. so look at the solder joints.

typically though, it's the lack of tension, or dirty contact points.

A new switch isn't expensive.. I think I've got a couple here in fact..

and you have minimal soldering to do to get it in.

but I'd bet on tension and dirty contact points first.

AKA = "the Gibson disease." LOL

Which BTW can also be remedied by a little re-wiring prowess. Jimmy Page and many other pros go this route to avoid those embarassing on-stage moments of silence where a brilliant solo is supposed to be.

WELCOME to the forum "rabies" and congrats on the Elitist LP (we trust you're not contagious).

Hit every BLUE NOTE baaaby..., I'm going to play on:-"
