RSDx Posted January 2, 2009 Posted January 2, 2009 My rivera does not have any serial on the back of the headstock is this common? what it mean thanks Hmmmmm ...... is the serial number not on a paper sticker inside the body, visible through the "f-hole" ???? Just guessing, as I have no experience with Rivs ..... yet

caulkhead Posted January 2, 2009 Posted January 2, 2009 If it's stamped '2ND' then the Serial will have been scrubbed out by the factory - it's to prevent false warranty claims I believe.

That is not correct. Epiphone factory seconds have "2nd" stamped on the back of the headstock, the serial number remains and the guitar is fully warranteed. Rejects are usually stamped "used" and the serial numbers are obliterated, sold as "refurbished", often on eBay.
caulkhead Posted January 2, 2009 Posted January 2, 2009 Sorry for the misinfo Gilbert, good to know you can buy a fully warrantied 2nd though.
